Meet Lucy Roche
Lucy is an Advanced Practice Baby and Children’s Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics in Kent.
Lucy continues to work with the NHS part-time as an Advanced Practice Baby and Children’s Physiotherapist in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics but runs private clinics alongside her NHS schedule.
Lucy has been working with babies and children for over 7 years, prior to this she completed NHS rotations within the acute adult setting to gain invaluable knowledge and to create a good foundation to build from when starting in Paediatrics.
Lucy has studied and worked for Oxford Universities Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence. It was here at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre that she specialised and became a Senior Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Outpatient Paediatric Physiotherapist.
During her role here she covered a huge variety of clinics and conditions ranging from babies to teenagers, but focusing on babies and under 5’s. She was the lead physio for one of the General Orthopaedic Consultant’s clinics, which enabled her to treat a variety of post-operative rehabilitation and general conservative musculoskeletal problems in 0 – 16 year olds.
Once gaining the relevant experience she moved to East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust to specialise further as a Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Paediatric Physiotherapy. Following this post, Lucy moved to become a Children’s Community Physiotherapist under Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust where she worked predominantly as a neurological Physiotherapist alongside musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics.
Currently Lucy works in East Kent Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust specializing in musculoskeletal and Orthopaedic Children’s Physiotherapy where she runs, and is the lead in Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal clinics.

I took my son to see Lucy as I noticed that he couldn’t turn his head one way, he had a tilt whenever he was sat up or lying down and had a flat head on his right side. After an initial assessment, Lucy diagnosed him and reassured me that she could definitely help with stretches, positioning and advice. I am so thankful I found her as following her treatment he can look fully round and his head shape is back to normal. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Lucy!
We took my daughter to see our GP as she seemed to be walking on her toes from the moment she started walking right up to 6 months later. When we received the NHS referral we realised she wouldn’t be seen for months. Thankfully we were pointed in Lucy’s direction who advised us that the longer it goes on the harder it is to treat. Not only was she friendly and approachable and very knowledgeable, but she saw us within two weeks and was able to treat the issue almost immediately!
